Anime Boston and The New England Anime Society are pleased to offer press passes to members of the media covering the convention. A press pass not only gives you access to the entire convention and preferred seating in the main events room, but you could have the opportunity to access certain areas normally off-limits to the general audience.
As a member of the working press attending Anime Boston 2004, you will have full access to:
- exhibit halls
- panel rooms
- video rooms
- art rooms
- game rooms
- reserved press seating in the main events room
- press room for private interviews*
Registration Criteria
To qualify for press credentials at the convention, you must present any of the following:
- a business card for a nationally or regionally recognized media outlet showing name and title
- copy of masthead showing name and title
- copy of by-lined article published within the past 6 months (if you're a freelancer)
- letter from editor or publisher assigning bearer to cover Anime Boston
- written letter of approval from Anime Boston's Press Liaison
You must also present a photo ID to obtain your press pass at the convention. Press passes will not be mailed.
You do not qualify for a press pass if you are:
- a publisher
- a sales representative
- a freelance photographer
- any other non-editorial personnel
- creating a student or fan documentary
- a representative of a web site or fan magazine that does not publish anime news or convention reports
- a representative of a web site or fan magazine which has not been previously reviewed and approved by Anime Boston's Press Liaison (web sites and fan magazines will not be approved at the convention)
- your web site was issued a press pass in 2003 and did not report on the convention
If you are not a member of a major media outlet (TV station, newspaper, etc) and seek a written letter of approval from Anime Boston's Press Liaison, please fill out our press registration form. If you are representing a web site, please read our web press information page. Anime Boston reserves the right to refuse or limit press passes to anyone or any organization for any reason, including failure to complete the registration form 72 hours before the convention opens. Press passes are not transferable.
* Please note that we cannot guarantee approval for requested interviews. Requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
